Kat left a position as a corporate attorney in Las Vegas to pursue her true passion, wine & champagne! Kat has visited over 100 wineries in Europe in the United States. Armed with a diplôme from the Université de Reims in Champagne, she is tackling her next challenge this fall, the WSET level 3. Kat strives to take the snobbery out of wine, one sip at a time!
I joined Wiine.Me in January 2014 as the Wine Academy & Events Director. I work on developing our wine events and create the wine content for the Wine Discovery and Wine Academy.
The best wine that you have tasted ?
My husband had just defended his PhD in particle physics from Notre Dame University. I brought a bottle of 1998 Winston Churchill from Pol Roger. We didn't have the best glasses, and perhaps it wasn't served at the best temperature, but that was the best wine I've ever had.
What is your favorite food pairing ?
I love champagne with raw scallops, good olive oil, and a bit of grey sea salt. Alternatively; champagne and popcorn. Specifically popcorn with truffle oil and parmesan.
